Happy Friday everyone!
Wedding season is here and finding that perfect dress is only half of the battle. My husband has the usual dilemma, what to wear? Its always nice if you go to a wedding with your significant other to somewhat compliment each others looks. We recently had my husband's brother and sister in laws wedding to attend, it happened to be on a boat in South Lake Union. We decided to go boat themed but then we thought how could we dress that wouldn't be too matchy but would compliment each other.
We discovered Paul Fredrick website, a great place for men's dress clothes with a wide variety of options. My husband just fell in love with the Paul Fredrick line of dress shirts. We both love the added detailing on them, from the pop of color on the inside cuff to the multiple pattern options. They have everything from french cuff to the no iron shirts. They also have a feature called the custom dress shirt, that gives you the option to pick and choose your favorites to create the perfect shirt for the event and your personal style.
We started with my look, I decided to go with a barely pink dress from Halston Heritage. My husband is a big fan of two patterns together which adds the perfect flare to any dress look. We started with a basic pair of pinstripe pants and a white vest, he wanted some added pattern so we did polka dots. The polka dots are a vary faint color and a complimentary color to the pinstripe. For the finishing touch we added the wood tie tack and anchor patterned handkerchief to really pull together a theme.
Here is some more looks below to help give ideas on complimenting each other looks with colors and non-conflicting patterns.
Tips for complimentary couples looks:
A man can never go wrong with a dress shirt that compliments his dates dress or pattern
A vest is a great way for a man to be dressed up and skip the blazer or these hot summer days
A tie can be a great way to pull your whole look together and add that much needed touch
A fun dress shoe can bring to life a very basic suit or the added flare
Handkerchief are much underrated and can be a perfect way to add a theme to any look
Cuff links can also be used to bring out an accent color in his dates look
Patterns- don't be afraid to mix as long as they are complimentary colors
Thanks for stopping by and make sure to check out Paul Fredrick's new catalog for great looks!
